Interventional Radiology is where I worked. As a traveler you almost always get 3-4 days more on call then staff nurses. Average call is 13 days a month and least 2-3 weekends a month which are 3-4 day stretches. Alot of neuro call. I was on call so much I was unable to to spend 2 different occasions with my family who lived near by. Director and supervisor are not very friendly and do there best to promote favoritism and a toxic work environment. I was constantly watching my every move such as waste partners( had some instances where only part of my drugs were wasted). One incident a tech went dumpster diving in my trash to pull out pt labels off an IV bag to the director trying to get me in trouble however it was one of his "buddies" that did it. They use this ridiculous app called Voceria that has to be placed on your phone. My 1st call night no one bothered to tell me if you were on your phone it would not alert you, so needless to say it alerted as soon as I got off a call which my response time over 30 minutes. I did not know this until the next day because no one told me that night. They waited to go to the director the next day like the immature staff that works there. I had expressed to them very openly how I took call serious and the closest place I could find to rent was 20 minutes away which made me nervous about being late so they all knew I would never have been late on purpose. Do yourself a favor stay away from this place.
