Palmetto General Hospital

Started off great 1:4 with help from PCT. Then 1:5 with no help at all. Phlebotomy does come around and take blood. But these pts are high acuity and there are always rapids on this floor. Even charge has 5 PTS!!! Completely unsafe now. The new director is saying that they have to save money and the patients and nurses are the ones paying for it becasue the care is not the same. So sad that instead of going in the right direction they are running themselves down in the ground. When I first came here there was a saying that I kept hearing " You come to Palmetto if you want to die" I was kinda shocked to hear that but after having lived it and worked the floor I can see why the patients that come here come to that conclusion. Its so sad. I hope they turn around for the better.
